Our Greatest Desire
is to introduce you to Jesus Christ
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
God loves you. Anything you read beyond this point will fall back upon that motive: Love.
Romans 3:23 tells us “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” This verse tells us that every person is a sinner and eternally separated from God in their current state. Yet in context of our verse, the world is the object of God’s Love. He loves every person, regardless of color, race, ethnicity, age, and past. He always has loved us, still does, and always will. Even in our sinful condition, He still loves us. (Romans 5:8 – But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us)
Whatever we love, we always give to. That may be money, time, attention, or other resources. God loved us so much that He gave us His Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus was given to us in that He lived a sinless perfect life and then died on the cross for our sin.(John 15:13 – Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.)
Jesus proved His deity as the Son of God throughout the Bible. We see it in His Names, His Works, His Attributes, His Words, and His Life. If Jesus were not the sinless Son of God, He would have had to die for His own sin. Because He IS God, we can trust in Him for salvation through His blood. Speaking of Jesus, Acts 4:12b says “for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Also, John 5:17-18)
Anyone and Everyone can be saved. Please read that again. No matter what is in our past, no matter what anyone else may think, whosoever calls upon God’s Son, Jesus Christ, for salvation shall be saved. God made a promise and Titus 1:2 reminds us that God “cannot lie.”
This is more than simply believing Jesus is a real person. James chapter 2 tells us that even the devils believe that God is real. Believing IN Jesus is to put the faith and trust of our eternity in Him alone. The Gospel is simple: Jesus died, was buried, and rose again from death. Because Jesus died on the cross for us and resurrected on that third morning, we can trust Him to give us life beyond the power of death as well. Ephesians 2:8-9 will clarify to us “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: (9) Not of works, lest any man should boast.” There is no work we do to be saved, nor anything we have done to earn it. Jesus graciously finished all the work and offered us a gift (Romans 6:23), the gift of salvation. You cannot work for a gift, nor earn it; you can only receive it.
Although we all will experience the death of our physical body, our spirit will spend eternity in either Heaven or Hell. God has made a way through His Son Jesus that we can go to Heaven. When the day of our physical death comes, if we have called upon Jesus for salvation, our spirit will be with Jesus in Heaven and for eternity
2 Corinthians 5: 8
We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
If you believe this to be true in your heart, what now? – Confess yourself a sinner and in need of a Savior. Tell God you believe in the finished work of Jesus (The Gospel: Death, Burial, and Resurrection of Jesus) and ask Jesus to come into your heart and save you from your sin. Romans 10:13 says “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” How do you know you’re saved if you do this? Because God said it, and knowing He cannot lie, if you have done what He has said to do for salvation, that settles it!
An important truth to know is that Jesus and His salvation is not simply a “Get out of Hell Free” Card. God wants a personal relationship with you and His desire is for you to know Him. Sin separated that relationship in the garden with Adam and Eve but Jesus built a bridge to restore that fellowship. We know our Creator through His Son, His Word, and through Prayer
